Qalibaf Is a Perfect Principlist Mayor

TEHRAN (Asremrooz): Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has done useful and unique function during his work and the greatest projects have been finished in that period.
The north-south Imam Ali (A.S) highway is one of the big construction projects in Tehran. Imam Ali highway with 35 km length and 56 bridges at 26 intersections over it was inaugurated on birthday of Imam Ali. Imam Ali (A.S.) highway, a north-south arterial route, is the most fundamental and longest highway in connective network of eastern Tehran region.
According to the detailed project, it starts from Artesh highway (Lashgarak) crossroads, in its northernmost, and joins Shahr-e Rey bypass, in its southernmost and, green space has been designed along both sides of the entire route. it has been completed in 19 months. This project was one of the heaviest projects having installation exposures and 420 km of exposures in this project has been transferred.
The first dimension of the project was that we had to enter into the old texture for its extension and therefore in this project which is the largest project in urban history, some seven thousands houses within the framework of four thousand plates were purchased in less than one year which passed from Districts 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20 as well as 1 to 6 and 12 and 22 which all assisted us with all their possibilities.
Municipal action to Reduce Air Pollution
Fortunately, Tehran Municipality has a positive approach to the environment including establishing environment headquarters and attractive experts in Tehran Municipality. Some of the acts for reducing Tehran air pollution are BRT that has positive impact on reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
In addition to Tehran Municipality, Tehran Islamic Council has carried out activities in the environment. Another approach is waste exchange followed by Tehran Municipality.
Hojjat-Al Islam Hassan Fallah in an interview about Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said “ whenever a great project has not ended the Mayor does not enlarge it while others do it before the end”.
Sadr Bridge another major and important municipal projects
For the first time in the country, the bridge deck of Sadr multi-layer highway would be installed by four gantry cranes which would double the speed of construction operation. By using such equipment, one kilometer of deck could be installed every month. The walls are being installed in order to prevent sound pollution caused by construction. The sound-proof walls which would be installed with proper height and with regard to distance from nearby buildings, would absorb the sound produced by traffic on the bridge and would also prevent direct view of the overlooking residential spaces.
Niyayaesh Tunnel
Tehran’s Niyayesh tunnel which is to be commissioned in February 2012 is among the world’s 20 long road tunnels. The tunnel includes northern and southern tunnels, the Kordestan tunnel, and the 04 tunnel with a total length of 8,560 m which increases to 10,252 m considering the ramps. Many long tunnels of the world are inter-city tunnels and if compared to intra-city tunnels, Niyayesh will be given a better ranking. Cross section of the tunnel at bifurcations is 447 sq. m. and since it is dug in the city, construction needs more complicated operations.
In Asia, Iran is the third country after China and Japan to dig long road tunnels. The new tunnel of Alborz which will be part of Tehran – North highway will be 6,300 m and the second longest road tunnel in Iran whose construction has begun since 2004.
Niyayesh Tunnel enjoys extreme importance among urban development projects both in terms of the effect it would have on traffic in the northern part of the city and due to its technical preferences. However, implementation of the project with regard to the precise timing and speed of progress is also remarkable.
