On the first or seventh of his birth Gabriel said “God say hello and stated “call him Hossein”.so Prophet Muhammad named him Hossein by the order of Allah . Hossein is the Arabic equivalent of Shubayr in Hebrew. Shubayr was the name of the second son of Haroun/Aaron, the successor of Musa/Moses.
On the seventh day, Lady Fatima Pease be upon her killed a sheep and shaved his head and weighted his hair and gave silver as weight as his hair to poor.
Hossein and Prophet
From Imam Hossein’s birthday in 4AH to the prophet demise in 10 AH the love and affection of Prophet Muhammad towards Hossein was so unique that all the companions were aware of it, they had frequently seen its manifestation, and had heard of it repeatedly.
Salman Farsi said “I saw the holy prophet put Hossein on his knees and kissed him and cited “you, your father and grandfather are great, you are Imam, the Imam’s son and Imams’ father”.
Anas-ebn-Malek recited “when I asked the holy prophet whom one of your household do you like the most? He replied Hasan and Hossein”. Repeatedly he kissed and smelled them”.
Abu-Horayreh, one of Muawiyeh’ supporter said “ I confessed that I saw that prophet put Hasan and Hossein on his shoulders and came down when he arrived he said he who loves my grandchild, he loves me and "Hossein is from me, and I am from Hossein”.
Hossein with his father
Unfortunately, the sweet years of Hossein's childhood were soon over. He was about seven years old when the Prophet departed from this world and he lived three years with his father who never sees except God and never wants except God and never finds except God. In that time he obeyed his father and helped him in his Islamic goals like his brother Imam Hasan as a loyal solider.
Imam Hossein with his brother
After the martyrdom of Amir al-Mu'minin, Imam Hassan, by the will of Allah and the recommendations of Prophet Muhammad, became the Imam and leader of the Muslims. He took responsibility in leading the Islamic society and in preaching the religion of Allah.
As in the case of his father, Hossein , like a true follower, continued to obey and respect his brother, while remaining firmly obedient in even the smallest matters. His manners and obedience towards his brother was so exemplary that historians have acknowledged and recorded many of the cases.
When Imam Hassan was forced to make peace with Muawiya in order to interest of Islam and Muslims, Imam Hussein helped his brother and never protested. As mentioned, Hussein was always in a state of obedience and support to Imam Hassan’s actions in political and social matters, especially concerning peace treaty with Mu'awiyah.
Despite the unfaithfulness of all Muslims towards Imam Hassan, Hussein defended Imam Hassan's decision on the peace treaty. Imam Hussein believed peace was the key factor in Islam's maintenance.
One they Muawiyah insulted Imam Hassan and his father in presence of them, Imam Hussein decided to defend but Imam Hassan invited them to silence.

Imam Hussein with Muawiyeh
When Hassan- ibn -Ali agreed to make a peace treaty with Muawiyah the first Umayyad caliph, he left Kufa and went to Medina with his brother Hussein.
When Imam Hassan departed from this world according to order of Allah and prophet and Imam Ali’s recommendation and Hassan –ibn Ali’s will islamic leader transferred to Imam Hussein.
According to the Shia, Hussein had gained the third Imam for a period of ten years after the death of his brother Hassan in 669. All of this time but the last six months coinciding with the caliphate of Muawiyah. He as his brother agreed to continues peace with him.
Husseini Uprising
Professor Marbin German philosopher and orientalist said “ I believed that the key to survival, development and evolution of Islam was Imam Hussein Martyrdom”.
After Muawiyeh ‘s death, Yazid was the Muslims Caliph and called himself Amir-al-mo’menin. He decided to pledge allegiance. So he wrote a letter to Medina’s leader and asked for Hussein’ allegiance. Imam Hussein refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid.
Imam Hussein knew if he stays in Medina he will be killed, so in order of Allah he traveled to Mecca at night. Hussein left Medina with his sisters, daughters, sons, brothers, and the sons of Hassan. He took a side road to Mecca to avoid being pursued. This news was published and arrived to Kufa.
The religious attitudes of the Umayyad also inspired the people of Kufa to believe that leadership of the Muslim community belonged to the descendants of Mohammed, so they urged Hussein to join them and come to Kufa to establish his caliphate. Hussein agreed to come to them.
Husayn wrote the Kufans and told them that he understood from their letters that they had no imam and they wished him to come to unite them by the correct guidance. He informed them that he was sending his cousin Muslim ibn Aqeel to report to him on the situation. If he found them united as their letters indicated he would quickly join them, for it was the duty of the imam to act in accordance with the Qur'an and to uphold justice, proclaim the truth, and to dedicate himself to the cause of God. The mission of ibn Aqeel was initially successful. The Kufans visited him freely, and 18,000 men are said to have enlisted with him in support of Hussein as their savior and Caliph. He wrote to Hussein, encouraging him to come quickly to Kufa. Yazid was aware of Imam’s decision and sent Ibn-Ziad to Kufa. He used Kufian’s weakness and killed Moslem.
During trip Imam Hussein pointed and announced “ my purpose for this trip is revealing Yazid’s devil’s goal, standing against injustice and oppression, supporting Quran and having alive Islam”. This is a divine mission by God although all his companions, children and family were killed.
The holy prophet, Amir-al-mumenan and Imam Hassan repeatedly had stated Imam Hussein martyrdom. He also himself knows that is his last trip.
On 13 October 680 (Muharram 10, 61 AH), he and his small group of his followers and family members, who were between 72 or more, fought with a large army under the command of Umar-ibn-Sa’ed. Hussein and all of his men were killed and beheaded. The bodies were left for forty days without burial and survivors from Husain's family were taken as prisoners to Sham to Yazid.
Today, the death of Husayn ibn Ali is commemorated during every Muharram by Shia Muslims, with the most important of these days being its tenth day, Ashura. All our leader have recommended to live Imam Hussein uprising and to visit his holy shrine.
Abu-Ammare said “ one day I met Imam Sadeq he said, read poem for Hussein martyrdom, when I began he cried loudly”.
Imam Hussein saying
1. No one will feel secured on the Resurrection Day except those who feared God in this world.
2. One who pursues a goal through sinful ways, will ironically distance himself from that goal , and will approach what he was afraid of.
3. To me, death is nothing but happiness, and living under tyrants nothing but living in a hell.
4. If you don't believe in any religion and don't fear the Resurrection Day, at least be free in this world.
5. Beware that the need of people to you is among the blessings of God to you . So do not scare away the needy people when they come to you, as the God's blessings will return and go elsewhere.
6. Whoever seeks the satisfaction of people through disobedience of God; Then God subjects him to people.
7. Avoid oppressing the one who does not have any supporter against you, other than the Almighty God.
8. One who reveals your faults to you like a mirror is your true friend, and one who flatters you and covers up your faults is your enemy.
9. Wisdom will not be complete except by following the truth.
10. Associating with corrupt people makes you subject to suspicion.
11. Crying out of fear from God is salvation from the hellfire.
12. Avoid doing what makes you obliged to apologize for it . True believers never do anything for which they have to apologize. Fake believers , on the contrary , keep doing wrong and say they are sorry in the after math.
13. Hastiness is foolishness.
14. Do not permit anybody ( to come in ) before saying Salam ( greetings).
15. Whoever becomes generous becomes a noble; and whoever becomes stingy becomes vicious and mean-spirited.
16. Among the signs of a learned man is criticizing his own words and being informed of various viewpoints.
17. If the world is counted valuable; surely the house of God's rewards is higher and more worthy. If bodies were created for death; surely being killed with swords in the way of God is a more honorable death.
18. He who has you, has everything, and he who has deprived himself of you is the poorest in the world. Loser is the one who chooses and be content with anyone or anything other than you.
19. People are slaves to the world, and as long as they live favorable and comfortable lives, they are loyal to religious principles. However, at hard times, the times of trials, true religious people are scarce.
20. Beware that the need of people to you is among the blessings of God to you. So do not scare away the needy people when they come to you, as the God's blessings will return and go elsewhere.
